ApplewoodMotorcar.com ApplewoodMotorcar.com

ApplewoodMotorcar.com was in need of a sprucing up. The owners started the site in 2002 to highlight their, then, antique and rare automobile repair service. As time moved on, the focus of the business (as so many do) shifted from auto repair to auto transporting. The owners wanted to highlight their brand, Applewood Motorcars, and be less specific in the look. The site was re-designed using XHTML 1.0 Transitional templates over a WordPress engine. This will allow the owners to quickly change the content of the site, should the focus of the business shift again. Special attention was paid to updating their existing branding. Both owners wanted a nod to nostalgia, but a look that definitely said ‘all business’.

Highlighted items on the site are a flash photo switcher on the homepage and lightboxed images throughout. A form processor has been employed to collect, centralize and maintain contact information as well as provide a mechanism for collecting business sensitive data about customers’ cars prior to pickup. The estimated time saved in allowing customers to fill out this information themselves, rather than an Applewood Motorcar employee collecting it by phone, should pay for the site in the first year.
